A 26-year-old man has died following a stabbing in Smithers on Friday night.
The North District Major Crime Unit and Smithers RCMP say at about 11:35 p.m. Mounties responded to a complaint of a man being stabbed in an apartment building in the 1500-block of Main Street.
Officers found the young man in distress. He was transported to hospital via BC Ambulance but died of his injuries.
The victim has since been identified by Mounties as Francis George Namox.
Kelly Andrew Johnson, 21, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder Sunday, according to the RCMP.
