Calgary Real Estate Board to launch rental listings

Finding a place to rent in a tight market that meets your needs and is in your price range can be a challenge.

Now the Calgary Real Estate Board (CREB) is offering a new service for both landlords and renters.

Starting Tuesday, it will post MLS listings for rental properties, just as it does for homes for sale.

Renters will also be able to obtain the services of a realtor to find a suitable rental property.

“The MLS System is the most trusted resource for listing properties for sale,” says CREB president Bill Kirk. “By offering rental properties on the MLS system, both renters and property owners will enjoy the same value, safety and exposure to the market that buyers and sellers have experienced for years.”

Realtors will help landlords promote rental listings and help renters with tenant applications and the necessary documents.

Only realtors will be able to create listings.

While renters can access listings of rental properties for free, there is a negotiable fee for landlord listings and renters who turn to a realtor to help them find a rental property.

Rental listings will be available on realtor.ca starting Tuesday, February 4th.
