WINNIPEG – A North End man was shot Thursday after he stepped out of his house to shout at a group causing a disturbance.
A bunch of men were involved in a confrontation at around 8 p.m. near the man’s home, police said, so he stepped out his back door to yell at them to take it elsewhere.
One of the group pushed past the man and into his house in an attempt to flee, police said in a news release Friday.
While the resident was closing the door of his house, he was shot in the upper body. It’s not clear who or what the gunman aimed at.
The group fled and police were called at about 8:10 p.m. The man who was shot was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Police are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
