WINNIPEG – Family of an elderly Waverley Heights woman say she’s still shaken up after catching two men stealing gifts from under her Christmas tree.
The woman’s son, who didn’t want to be identified, said his 80-year-old mother came up from the basement of her Greensboro Square home Friday morning around 11 a.m. and found two men in her living room.
The men knocked the woman down as they fled out the front door to a waiting SUV, police said.
The woman was not injured.
The thieves had already stolen the Christmas gifts from under the tree and loaded them into the getaway vehicle.
The vehicle is described as a blue or green SUV, possibly a Nissan Juke or Subaru Outback.
Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
