Vancouver Elves hope to spread Christmas love with #VanKiss campaign

For the second year in a row, Vancouver’s West End residents and shoppers might notice some new additions to their street lamps and signs.

Christmas Elves have put up 10 mistletoe locations around the city to help spread some love this holiday season.

A spokesperson for #VanKiss Elves says last year they had two and this year they put up 10.

“Just to bring holiday joy and merriment to the people of Vancouver at Christmas,” he says.

The 10 locations are:

  • Two at Davie and Thurlow
  • Nelson Park
  • Robson off Thurlow
  • Denman near Haro (West End Community Centre)
  • Nelson off Denman (near No Frills and Mall)
  • Davie near Denman (English Bay)
  • Bute and Burnaby
  • Bute (Between Davie and Pendrell)
  • Barclay Street (near Barclay Heritage Square)

They want people, when they see the mistletoe, to stop, share a kiss and then tweet it out or put it on Instagram with the hashtag #VanKiss.

The mistletoe will be up until the new year.

“We hopefully want to expand it across the entire city,” says the spokesperson who wishes to remain anonymous.
