1 dead, 1 critically injured following double stabbing at downtown Peterborough apartment

An arrest has been made after police say a double stabbing left one person dead and another critically injured at a downtown apartment in Peterborough on Sept. 6.
Around 9 p.m. officers responded to a reported stabbing at a Simcoe Street apartment.
Police chief Stuart Betts says a 27-year-old Peterborough woman was pronounced dead at hospital. A 30-year-old Peterborough man has since been transferred to a Toronto-area hospital in criticall condition.

A suspect was identified and later located in a wooded are in the city’s east end after two women reported being attacked.
A 29-year-old man was charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder and other charges. A woman found with him was arrested on the strength of a warrant.
