Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Public Safety Minister Bill Blair said that federal, provincial and territorial ministers responsible for emergency management discussed strategies for building up resilience, mitigation and adaptation to the “new climate reality.” Adding that there are currently 477 wildfires burning across Canada, Blair said that the ministers also discussed disaster financial assistance, public alerting and flood management, and that they will meet again in the fall.
