NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg warned on Wednesday that the possibility of China providing lethal aid to Russia would be a “historic mistake with profound implications.” Stoltenberg also expressed his concern that Russia was making “empty promises” after it was announced Moscow would deploy tactical and nuclear weapons to Belarus, even after signing an agreement with China that neither country would deploy nuclear weapons outside their borders.
