B.C.’s Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, said Monday that the shame around drug use and drug addiction means many people do not reach out for help and as a result, many people are dying alone. Henry said this is a “really historic and important step” taking place Tuesday as a small amount of some illicit drugs will be decriminalized for adults.
