Defence Minister Anita Anand gave her condolences during a press conference Wednesday to the family of Grygorii Tsekhmistrenko, a Canadian who died fighting in Ukraine on Sunday according to reports. She also said that Global Affairs Canada is working with the family to determine next steps, but said as it was not her department, she could not advise if he would be repatriated to Canada.
