B.C.’s police watchdog is investigating after a man died in a Burnaby coffee shop this morning following an interaction with officers. RCMP say an overdosing man had been in a physical altercation with an employee the Starbucks in the Kensington Square shopping centre. They say when officers moved in to apprehend him, he began to show signs of medical distress and was pronounced dead at the scene.
