Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly said Thursday that an assessment team had been sent by Canada to Haiti in order to determine the organization of the Haitian national police, as well as the security situation in the country. She and her U.S. counterpart Secretary of State Antony Blinken said they were working with other countries, as well as with each other, to determine who would lead a mission to Haiti, should one occur, in response to the ongoing crises.
