The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) is back in Toronto after a two-year pandemic hiatus, and with its return, small businesses that struggled throughout the closure. “As much as this is a generational business for me and a family business, it’s also something that is an experience that generations have gone to the CNE and enjoyed,” said Sam Scanga, the owner of several food booths. “It’s part of everybody’s history.” Global’s Alexia Kapralos and Katherine Cheng have some of their stories.
