Deadly veterinary sedative suspected in Peterborough opioid drug supply: health unit

It’s called Xylazine, a veterinary sedative and pain reliever that is not approved for human use.
Recently, it has made its way into Canada’s unregulated drug supply, prompting a warning from the Canadian Centre for Substance Use and Addiction.
Jocelyn Qualtrough of Peterborough Public Health joined Noor Ibrahim to explain the dangers of this drug, and what the public should watch for.
