Emergency crews from Steinbach Fire Department battled a fire that destroyed a strip mall. Residents were asked to keep their windows closed Sunday as the smoke from the fire was believed to contain harmful toxins. The fire, whose smoke could be seen in Winnipeg almost 60 kilometres away, started Sunday afternoon and was still burning into the night.
