Vancouver City Council has gone against a staff recommendation and approved a plan to double the size of Davie Street’s popular Fountainhead pub. Staff had argued the application contravened a city policy prohibiting two large liquor establishments from operating within 100-metres of each other. There is a similarly sized bar across the street.
