Canada’s chief public health officer Dr. Theresa Tam urged Canadians to get up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccines, including a booster dose if eligible, as the BA.2 sub-variant of Omicron is spreading in the country, albeit at a “slow rate.” She said while there could be a “blip” in the spring, vaccines and wearing a mask “as much as possible” could be the tools to manage such a potential surge.
