Trudeau says Canada to ban crude oil imports from Russia, banks barred from transactions with Russian central bank

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Monday that Canada intends to ban crude oil imports from Russia, which he said makes up about a third of Russia’s federal budget revenue, saying it would send a strong message despite Canada having imported little of the product. He also said that Canadian banks would be barred from transactions with the Russian central bank.
