A new registry is being proposed by the city requiring landlords to certify the condition of the units they’re renting. The registry that will hold a unit’s history, telling tenants whether it’s up to code or if recent renovations have been made. But already the proposal is coming under fire from both tenants’ rights groups and the landlord’s association. Tim Sargeant reports.
