The World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday said it was urging caution after Denmark became the latest country to drop all of its COVID-19 restrictions that aimed at helping to reduce the spread of infections. “We are urging caution because many countries have not gone through the peak of Omicron yet, many countries have low levels of vaccination coverage with very vulnerable individuals within their populations and so now is not the time to lift everything all at once,” WHO COVID-19 Technical Lead Maria Van Kerkhove said.
