Canada election: Singh pledges to lower telecommunication rates for Canadians if elected

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh pledged on Wednesday to cut cell phone and internet bills for Canadians if elected, saying Canada’s telecommunications rates are far higher than other countries. “We’re going to take on the ‘big telco’ and say ‘you’ve got to stop gouging people’,” he said during a campaign stop in Windsor, Ont.
