Canada’s military ombudsman Gregory Lick blasted Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan on Tuesday, saying that “the concept of ministerial accountability has been absent” during his handling of the misconduct scandal in the Canadian Armed Forces. Lick said both allies and “those who are out to do us harm” are watching the scandal unfold and said that, along with the negative impacts on recruitment and retention, “risks threatening national security.”
