Public Health Ontario has now confirmed 36 cases of the B.1.617 variant, the so-called “double mutant” variant of COVID-19 first detected in India. The surge in cases of the new variant comes on the heels of new travel restrictions announced by the federal government, but critics say Ottawa acted too late. Kamil Karamali reports.
