The province’s Special Investigation’s Unit is investigating an OPP shooting in Northumberland County.
The incident occurred along County Road 25 in Cramahe Township, east of the hamlet of Castleton.
In its early investigation, the SIU say a man confronted officers with a baseball bat and smashed a cruiser window.
Officers used two weapons to try to subdue the individual but were unsuccessful. Two officers then discharged their firearms, the SIU says.
The investigation is ongoing and SIU are seeking witnesses to the incident.
