Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Dr. Rochelle Walensky, said Wednesday that COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, made up approximately 11 per cent of all deaths across the U.S. in 2020 and was the third leading underlying cause of death after heart disease and cancer.
