Leonid Volkov, chief of staff for Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny, said on Monday that European Union (EU) sanctions in response to the jailing of Navalny would send a “clear message.” Volkov also said protests against the jailing would continue, promising a mass peaceful protest in the spring.
