Alberta announces new park aimed at protecting wilderness and a World Heritage Site

The Alberta government has said it will double the size of a wilderness area in northern Alberta. The move protects the ecologically sensitive lands, but will also act as a buffer to nearby Wood Buffalo National Park — which a UN organization says needs to be better protected.
