Manitoba’s government has struck a deal to buy the COVID-19 vaccine candidate by Calgary-based Providence Therapeutics. The shot will be made in Canada if it passes clinical trials. As Abigail Bimman explains, Manitoba is the first province to make a deal separate from Ottawa, but it may not be the last, as frustration grows over Canada’s slow vaccine rollout.
