Peterborough man charged with arson, theft following fires at Hwy. 7 gas station, store

A fire broke out at a gas station convenience store on Hwy. 7 just east of Peterborough on Monday night.
Around 9 p.m. Otonabee South-Monaghan Township firefighters from several stations responded for a call for a fire at a gas station on Highway 7 near Burnham Line.

OPP say a man was arrested after he allegedly threatened an employee, set fire inside the store and poured fluids onto two gas pumps and set them on fire.

The man was charged with arson, theft, assault and mischief.
