Andy Slavitt, senior advisor to the White House COVID-19 response team, said on Wednesday that the team is working on increasing the number of doses squeezed from a Pfizer vial to six, by acquiring low dead space syringes which minimize the amount of vaccine left in the syringe after use. Pfizer’s vaccine is shipped in vials initially indicated to hold five doses.
