U.S. president-elect Joe Biden on Monday spoke after the Electoral College cast their votes, giving he and vice-presaident-elect Kamala Harris 306 electoral votes compared to Donald Trump’s 232, saying that neither a pandemic nor an “abuse of power” can extinguish the “flame” of democracy. He commended public servants and election officials to ensure the vote was conducted fairly and said they would not allow themselves “to be bullied” or let threats of violence intimidate them.
