Minister of International Development Karina Gould announced on Saturday that Canada has launched the Lebanon Matching Fund to assist with the devastation caused by the explosion in Beirut that killed nearly 150 and injured thousands. Gould said that donations made by Canadians between Aug. 4 and 24 to the Humanitarian Coalition and its members would be matched by the Government of Canada, up to a maximum of $2 million.
