Dr. Howard Njoo, deputy chief public health officer, said on Friday it is “concerning” to see that individuals under age 39 are becoming an “increasingly large proportion” of COVID-19 cases in Canada. He added that isolation fatigue and an “invincibility factor” to the virus are both potential factors in the increase.
