U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he had signed a proclamation to re-impose tariffs on some aluminum products from Canada. Trump said the American aluminum business was being “decimated” by Canada. He said he had lifted the tariffs with a promise from Canada that its aluminum industry would “not flood our country” with exports, saying it’s “exactly what they did.”
