Dr. Howard Njoo, Canada’s Deputy Chief Public Health Officer said on Wednesday that the daily numbers of new cases and deaths due to COVID-19 are showing “steady decline” in COVID-19 activity since the peak in late April. He added that the country’s reproduction number has been mostly below 1 for more than 10 weeks, meaning each new case infects less than one other person.
