U.S National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Anthony Fauci said on Tuesday that governors and local officials should mandate the use of masks in their jurisdictions and warned that indoor bars are a “perfect setup for the spread of infection,” saying they should be closed. He also stressed the importance of school children returning to classrooms this fall and warned of “ripple effects” of children at home places on families.
