One person was taken to hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation following a fire at a Hamilton Township residence Sunday.
Fire crews responded to the blaze on Jibb Rd., east of Camborne, at about 5:15 p.m., discovering heavy flames coming from the front and side of the building when they arrived.
The building has two apartments in it, and the bottom floor tenant says he was working outside he saw smoke coming from his unit.
He tried to douse the flames coming from the kitchen, but was beaten back.
The tenants in the building’s upper floor weren’t home at the time.
Damage is estimated at $350,000.
