Nunavut’s chief public health officer Dr. Michael Patterson announced the territory’s first case of COVID-19 on Thursday, which is in the community of Pond Inlet. Patterson said “all passenger travel in and out” of the community shall cease in an effort to prevent the spread of the virus, and asked people to abide by proper hand hygiene and physical distancing practices.
