Quebec Premier Francois Legault said on Thursday he had informed law enforcement in the province to be “less tolerant” on those breaking the rules surrounding self-isolation as part of COVID-19 measures. He said officers will issue more fines, which could range from $1,000 to $6,000. Legault said this came after continuing reports of social gatherings still taking place and non-essential businesses still operating.
