Vernon defends discharge of treated effluent into Okanagan Lake

With its usual water reservoir almost at capacity, the City of Vernon is planning to discharge treated waste water directly into Okanagan Lake. While it’s not an uncommon practice, the announcement has generated controversy. Now as environmentalists call for it to change course, the city is defending the move.
