U.S. Supreme Court to hear case on if Electoral College voters can vote differently than pledged

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear arguments on whether Electoral College voters can cast their vote differently than the popular vote result in their state. Currently, many states require electors to pledge to vote based on the state’s popular vote.
