Damage is pegged at $50,000 following a house fire in Omemee on Monday afternoon.
Kawartha Lakes district fire chief David Kish says a couch fire damaged the home on Grassy Road. A heater near the couch is being blamed as the cause for the fire.
No one was home at the time but a dog was rescued.
