Damage is pegged at $5,000 after a fire broke out at a residence on Crescent St. in Peterborough on Monday evening.
Peterborough Fire Services responded around 7:13 p.m. and noticed smoke in the dwelling. Firefighters located and removed one occupant from the area and quickly got the fire under control.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, according to platoon chief Stephen Reid.
