Lightning strike blamed for downed hydro poles near Peterborough

A lightning strike is being blamed for downed hydro poles in the Douro area on Wednesday evening. Around 6 p.m. firefighters and Hydro One responded to Centre Road and discovered a hydro pole which officials determined had been struck by lighting and fell.

It caused a couple of other poles to fall and wires to come down.

Hydro crews worked all night to restore the power which impacted about 25 customers in the area just outside Peterborough.
