Pope Francis defends retaining French cardinal convicted of covering up sex abuse

Pope Francis defended his decision to reject Philippe Barbarin’s resignation, after the French Roman Catholic cardinal was convicted on charges of failing to report sex abuse, saying as the trial is still ongoing there is a presumption of innocence.
