The Ford government has appointed York Region’s Deputy Chief, Thomas Carrique as the new OPP commissioner. This move comes after controversy when the Premier had originally appointed Toronto Police Supt. Ron Taverner to lead as the OPP commissioner but had dropped out just last week.
