It can go undiagnosed for years, even decades. That’s because the symptoms occur while a person is asleep. We’re talking about sleep apnea. Recent statistics put obstructive sleep apnea as high as 10 per cent of the adult population. Part of the reason for it is being blamed on the obesity rates because as Klaudia Van Emmerik reports, people who are overweight are more at risk of developing the potentially serious sleeping disorder.
