China says 2 Canadians were placed in detention on suspicion of ‘endangering national security’

A spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry said Wednesday that two Canadians, Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor, had been detained by the government and were suspected to have engaged in actions damaging to “China’s national security.”
