Canada’s United Nations mission to Mali is underway. The 250 troops are working every day, at least 12 hours each day, to provide air support to their UN allies. But the military base, which the Canadians share with the Dutch and Germans, is meant to provide much more than security. Jeff Semple takes us behind the scenes of Camp Castor.
