Suspect in West Kelowna police standoff also faces domestic violence charges

It started with a violent domestic dispute in West Kelowna Sunday morning. RCMP caught up to their suspect later in the day at a rental unit at a local resort complex. But he refused to come out and police had reason to believe he had a gun. That resulted in a lengthy standoff with some nearby residents evacuated from their homes. The situation ended peacefully with the man’s arrest. He’s in custody facing charges from both incidents.
